Dreamshaping

February 2, 2012 by leslee

I know this guy who wrote a children’s book called “Jordan’s Dream.” It’s all about a kid who is having nightmares about a giant frog. His parents explain to him that as the dreamer he is in control and can do whatever he wants to in his dreams. So the next night when he dreams about the frightening life-sized frog, he remembers his power and befriends the frog instead of running from him. The nightmare turns into a wonderful adventure.

Apparently there is really something called dreamshaping and you really can control your dreams.

Yesterday I had the thought- what if life is just a dream?

What if we could stop right now and realize that we are in total control? What if in a moment of horrible despair we could laugh and realize that this is all in our minds and the reality is we are lying in a warm, comfy bed completely safe and protected? Knowing that reality, we could make anything happen. We could change the despair to joy, make a good dream better, or simply wake up and escape it altogether.

And if it’s not a dream and this insane life really is reality, what if we were still in control? What kind of life would you shape then?
